Defence Consultancy (DC) has been responsible for the production of the Tactical Data Link Network Design Station (TNDS) and the Multi TDL Planning Application (MTPA) and the Joint Exercise Management System (JEMS).
TNDS provides a total solution for JTIDS/MIDS Network Design and Planning. Designed to run under Windows operating systems, the system can be installed onto stand-alone PCs and laptops or onto a PC network.
Originally developed on behalf of the UK MoD, the TNDS has now been selected as the preferred Network Design tool of the SHAPE Data Link Management and Interoperability Centre (DLMIC) the Royal Danish Air Force Joint Data Link Operations Centre (RDAF - JDLOC) and the Belgian Data Link Management Cell (DLMC).
MTPA is currently being developed by DC to fulfil multi TDL planning requirements for the UK Joint Data Link Management Organisation (JDLMO). It is an application that will enable TDL planners to convert communications requirements into a series of networks with identified participants in order to support the end to end flow of information. The MTPA also supports the semi-automatic population of the OPTASK Link using information available within the operational plan generated by the application. It will initially be capable of supporting Link 16, IJMS and Link 11A/11B operations as well as Link 22, STDL, JRE and VMF in the future.
JEMS supports the delivery of exercises and is based around a secure and reliable IT infrastructure that can be deployed where it is needed. JEMS facilitates exercise support from a range of experts required to support a high level exercise, including military, political, cultural, government and non-government organisations.
