History

EDS was founded on the 27th June 1962. Then, EDS was incorporated in the state of Texas for $1,000. Today, EDS is a global organisation with clients across public and private sectors and an annual turnover in excess of $22 billion.

In 1990 EDS acquired SD Scicon and formed EDS Defence Limited. EDS Defence currently employs more than 3,500 staff across 15 UK locations. EDS Defence customers include US/UK MoD, intelligence agencies, NATO and EMEA wide ministries of defence. EDS Defence has a unique understanding of UK/US and NATO command and control doctrine, processes and equipment and in the UK Armed Forces outsourcing of recruiting, training, logistics and administration systems. EDS Defence also has a consultancy team who specialise in military capability assessment projects.

EDS Defence UK is a subsidiary of EDS, specialising in the global Defence and Secure Government markets. From its base in Hampshire, England, EDS Defence employs more than 3,500 staff across 15 UK locations with revenues of around $500million. We have customers across the UK MoD, Defence and Intelligence agencies and NATO.

We blend an in-depth understanding of military requirements with commercial best practice to improve our customers' effectiveness in operational and non-operational business and IT services. We help our customers to free up time to direct towards higher-value activities, improve productivity and reduce costs.

We are both a prime contractor for UK MoD and a consortium partner on several significant national and international projects.
