EDS has provided the CENTRIXS systems to the Royal Navy since its introduction into service. This work has included the design and rollout of a technology refreshment programme across all major warships and support vessels. CENTRIXS capability is a pre-requisite for many contemporary operational deployments.

Overview
Centrixs is a Command Information System developed by the United States armed forces that is used to provide a coalition-wide capability during maritime operations. There are several different variations that reflect the differing enclaves for the various operational areas, including the widely used Global Counter Terrorism Force (GCTF) community. Other variants such as the CENTRIXS Four Eyes (CFE) system use similar equipment in a different configuration.

In addition to providing the original system to CENTRIXS specifications, EDS has undertaken the detailed design work to enable the capability to be installed in all major Royal Navy ship classes and then presented the system for Acceptance Trials. This work has been completed to very aggressive timescales in order to meet urgent Operational deployments. Once in service, EDS has supported the installed capability with help desk and hardware support. During the life of the programme, obsolesces management has become necessary and EDS has delivered a refreshed design to ensure continued international interoperability.

Capability
CENTRIXS is a global, interoperable, interconnected information-sharing system allowing all national agencies and coalition nations to communicate seamlessly. It supports the secure sharing and exchange of intelligence and operational information through reliable communications connectivity, data manipulation and automated processes.

This seamless flow of information is crucial in warfighting efforts to enable planning, unity of effort, decision superiority and decisive global operations. CENTRIXS system allows the Coalition and its allies to securely exchange mission-specific operational and intelligence information with our coalition and mission partners.

Core capabilities of CENTRIXS include e-mail, Web data access, file sharing and collaboration services. In addition to providing support to the global war on terrorism, CENTRIXS provided critical connectivity between the U.S. and coalition partners during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom
