PORTFOLIO

NAVAL AFLOAT MESSAGING COHERENCY

A RESILIENT AND COHERENT WINDOWS BASED ACP 127 HIGH GRADE MESSAGING SYSTEM FOR THE ROYAL NAVY

FACT SHEET

NAMC is a modern Windows based ACP 127 messaging system provided on robust and resistant hardware architecture and using a graphical user interface. NAMC has replaced the current AMHA and DIMPS Royal Navy messaging systems.

Operational Benefits
The Naval Afloat Messaging Coherency (NAMC) Programme seeks to improve operational capability of the major RN Surface Platforms in service after 2007 by the introduction of a new Message Handling System. This will enable the removal from service of a number of legacy systems that are increasingly costly to support and close to obsolescence.

NAMC provides a modern and resilient Windows based infrastructure upon which future Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software upgrades can be easily achieved.

The NAMC programme is managed by the DE&S DII IPT.

The NAMC Programme
EDS Communications and Messaging Group are the Prime Contractor and Design Authority for NAMC, responsible for all programme management, system design, system hardware, and are the primary system integrators. EDS are also responsible for all security and safety aspects of NAMC and provide Integrated logistic Support (ILS) and systems support. EDS also maintain the NAMC reference system.
