PORTFOLIO

RAPIDLY DEPLOYED SECURE COMPUTING SYSTEM

PROVEN SECURE AND RUGGED TACTICAL NETWORKING WITH COLLABORATION AND MILITARY APPLICATION HOSTING

FACT SHEET

This range of equipment has been developed together with military users over a number of years and plays a major part in recent and current operations. When deployed as a system its key capability is to provide the tactical user with a network that can be quickly established by the users (through simple prepared wizards) that will operate predictably, reliably and securely.

Deployable Secure Network
EDS offer a deployable secure network for use in high tempo operations. Networks are scalable to thousands of users and are fast to deploy using automated network setup and management.

The entire network build process is automated from operating system load through to network configuration and can be used by non-IT specialists.

EDS offer both a light and fully rugged range of laptops and network equipments that can be mixed to suit operational needs. All equipments are battery backed to withstand temporary power loss and the fully rugged range complies with DefStan 59-41 (EMC) and DefStan 07-55 (severe sand, dust and moisture).

Both ranges of equipments can be mixed within a network configuration and provide the same industry standard military e-mail and collaborative office automation facilities within a secure Microsoft Windows framework.

A secure fibre optic network may link light laptops within a covered HQ as well as linking to fully rugged laptops in a tented area where EMC performance is critical.

Support is provided for military applications including Battlefield Information System Applications.

A flexible Remote User Terminal facility allows a laptop to join any configured operational LAN domain while maintaining a messaging capability, giving the user great mobility.

The system supports X.400 military messaging and ADat-P3 formatted messaging with Microsoft Office XP Professional tools configured to meet UK and NATO security requirements. Information sharing is supported by products such as Microsoft Sharepoint.

The entire equipment range has been proven with the UK forces and the NATO ARRC in systems such as ATacCS (Army/ARRC Tactical Computing System) and is suitable for many in-theatre applications.

Support for military applications includes the provision of a GPS Unit that provides accurate time synchronisation between networks linked by wide area communications. The unit has an intrinsic capability to maintain accuracy for long periods in the absence of a continuous GPS signal, making it suitable for use in covered areas.
