The Equipment Capability Customer (ECC), Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) agency and associated stakeholders are responsible for the management and delivery of capability, including its definition, analysis and transition to funded projects and programmes. Critical for future success is ensuring the principles of collaborative working are prioritised to ensure coherence across all stakeholders. Such collaborative working will extend from the MoD leads for the Defence Lines of Development to the industry partners who will ultimately supply the equipment and services needed to meet the capability requirement.

  • Conducting reviews and assessments of Research and Technology to inform capability planning;

  • Identifying programme outcomes, key integration points and project dependencies/interfaces with legacy and emerging capability across DLODs;
  • Supporting Acquisition from the development of programme plans through to acceptance providing the output for evidence based approvals.
