DEFENCE EXPERIMENTATION AND ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

COMBINING SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE, INTEGRATION EXPERIENCE AND SYNTHETIC ENVIRONMENTS FOR RAPID EXPERIMENTATION AND REALISATION OF TRANSFORMATION TO NETWORK ENABLED CAPABILITY

EDS have created a centre of excellence for Business Process Consulting, Capability Management and Integration Services for the future Network Enabled Defence Enterprise.

Overview
DEEDS offers a dynamic and flexible approach to exploring and exploiting capability integration within a system-of-systems experimentation environment supported by world-leading integration experience, validated simulation and a depth and breadth of military and technical subject matter expertise (SME). It provides customers the ability to:
  • Expose and understand the challenges associated with integrating capability
  • Develop or refine end-to-end business processes
  • Develop or refine Doctrine, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs)
  • Enable increased utilisation of existing assets and capability

What is DEEDS
DEEDS is based on a scaleable, modular and deployable infrastructure that can provide an accurate representation of In-Service CIS (including DII(F)) and emulation of deployed communications. The infrastructure hosts legacy, in-service and prototype applications, uses validated and accredited simulations that provide synthetic effects modelling and operates using proven experimental control systems. With underpinning world-class SME and the potential for 100+ "player" seats, DEEDS offers a truly joint Service, MOD and Industry experimentation service for business process development/improvement/re-engineering and rapid capability integration.

In the delivery of DEEDS, EDS can leverage Integration Expertise, technical and military SME, Enterprise Architects and Business Analysts with a track record of ensuring value across the lines of development through shaping strategies and future equipment programmes. These specialists can assist with the development and documentation of business processes, experiment design and execution and post experiment analysis.

To provide a truly joined up service, where appropriate, DEEDS will leverage from other EDS services including:

  • STARDIS
  • ISTAR Testbed
  • Joint Exercise Management System (JEMS)
  • The EDS contribution to NITEworks

DEEDS offers full service support for experimentation and training that will de-risk procurement, integration and deployment of capability through:

  • Supporting reliable requirements capture based on validated and repeatable experimentation
  • Enabling evidence-based options assessment and trade-offs across Defence Lines of Development
  • Capturing the consequences of integrating communication, infrastructure and applications

Through bringing together prototype and in service applications together with proven simulation, synthetic environments and world class expertise, DEEDS significantly reduces the cost of experimentation and can provide the war-fighter with a realistic training environment.
